When we started the Spotlight last year, we wondered how it would grow. To be honest, we wondered if it would grow. We were two guys in the basement of a house putting together an idea to start a new print publication when the world was telling us that print was dead.

Since that time, we have had numerous format changes, concept pages have come and gone, and we have had a lot of fun.

While this started as two guys in a basement with an idea, it has come as far as it has thanks to the readers and advertisers. We have thanked you before and want to thank you again. However, these two guys also could not have made this publication possible without the help of our staff.
Since the start of the Spotlight, we have had a couple employees come and go. Our first marketing consultant was Mardie Sachse. Without her hard work, I do not know if we ever would have made it. While Mardie has moved on to a new career, we wish her the best and want to say thanks to all of her hard work while she was here.

Now, we have a new full-time staff in addition to Todd Curry, our Sales Director and myself.

Monique Turner came to work as our Office Manager just a few short months ago. Since Monique has started, the overall function of our office has improved dramatically, and she has been a cruicial part of the continuation of our publication. If you get a phone call from our office or call into our office, be ready to talk to Monique. She is definitely unique, and we could not do it without her.

Abu Chowdhury is currently our most seasoned Marketing Consultant. While he also has been with us for only a few months, he has quickly become an important part of the success at the Spotlight. If you are a business in Boone County, there is a pretty good chance that you may have already met him. If not, I am sure there is a chance he will be stopping by soon.

Our newest Marketing Consultant is Serina Richardson. While Serina is new, she is already proving to be a hard worker and is very motivated to understand the inner workings of the Spotlight and how to help it continue to succeed. Serina has lived in the area her entire life and many of you may already know her well. If not, we hope she is here to stay, and you get the opportunity to hear from her soon.

While we may have appeared to be hiding our staff or look like we were doing this all on our own, I can assure you this was not the case. We are very pleased with the work they do and just wanted to take the opportunity to point that out to our readers.
